Melody strives to share knowledge, experience and techniques among members, so that more and more teachers, parents and carers will be able to try out new musical ideas and activities with children and adults who have a learning disability. Over the last few years, the charity has been able to create and develop resources for teachers.

Melody is interested in promoting new research into music and disabilities. We have abstracts from dissertations: "Approaches to instrumental and vocal tuition for children with a learning disability" by Graham Robert Hopson, and "Music and Down's Syndrome" by Bethan Mair Pickard. We also have a number of links to online articles.
This section of the website contains a number of case studies and testimonials from parents, tutors of MMB as well as trustees of Melody. These more personal accounts highlight the development of individuals through their learning of music.
